On 28 October, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrejs Pildegovičs met with the Ambassador of Mongolia Adiya Ganbaatar, who was in Latvia on an accreditation visit.
The parties confirmed desire to further develop political and economic cooperation. State Secretary Pildegovičs expressed Latvia’s interest in developing economic cooperation with Mongolia the sectors of transport and logistics, information and communication technologies, timber industry, pharmaceuticals, food and tourism. He commended the launching of activities by the Honorary Consul of Latvia, Choimpong Bat, as a result of which a Mongolian business delegation had arrived in Latvia after a longer interval. The State Secretary also confirmed readiness to build cooperation in the field of education as well as developing the legal framework.
